Our Story

The Pet Jewelry Shop's parent company Virtual Treasure Chest LLC. was founded 1996 as an online extension for our brick and mortar gift shop located in Marco Island, Florida. Our first e-commerce store, Virtual Treasure Chest opened for business in September 1997 specializes in recovered sunken treasure jewelry from the Atocha and Admiral Gardner shipwrecks.  In January 2002 we moved our corporate offices to Virginia. 

Early in 2024 we began actively working on a second e-commerce store, The Pet Jewelry Shop, this website.  Our goal is to offer a diverse collection of fashion and premium pet themed jewelry for everyone in the family, including your pet.  Our collection is diverse in term of the types of pets represented in our jewelry products: dogs, cats, birds, horses, sea life, and other extoic animals. We also offer a diverse variety of jewelry:  pendants, necklaces, charms, earrings, chains, bracelets, brooches, fine jewelry (14K gold and Sterling silver), handmade, and fashion jewelry.  In addition, we offer jewelry for your pets, such as statement collars.  This diverse collection of pet themed jewelry allows our customers to showcase their connection to their pets in their own special way.
